The Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of India (TBCFI) is the apex body responsible for the governance, development, and promotion of tennis ball cricket across India. Recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, we strive to bring structure and professional opportunities to millions of casual cricket players.
Founded in 2008 in New Delhi, TBCFI was established to provide a formal platform for the hugely popular but unstructured form of cricket played with a tennis ball. Our mission is to transform street cricket into a professionally recognized sport with standardized rules, organized competitions, and pathways for talent recognition.
We envision a future where tennis ball cricket is recognized as an official sporting discipline, with state and national teams, international competitions, and opportunities for players to build careers. Our federation works closely with state associations, sports authorities, and corporate sponsors to create a sustainable ecosystem.
Successfully organized 14 national championships since inception, with participation from over 30 states and union territories.
A growing network of over half a million registered players, coaches, and officials across India.
Official TBCFI associations established in all 28 Indian states, ensuring pan-India reach and governance.
TBCFI organizes a structured calendar of tournaments at district, state, and national levels, providing competitive platforms for players of all ages and skill levels.
The flagship event featuring state teams competing for the national title. Held annually in December across various cities.
Exclusive tournament for corporate teams, fostering workplace camaraderie and talent scouting. Sponsored by major brands.
National tournament for players under 19, serving as a crucial talent identification platform for future stars.
TBCFI has standardized the rules for tennis ball cricket to ensure fair play, safety, and consistency across all official tournaments.
Official matches are 20 overs per side. Each bowler can bowl a maximum of 4 overs. Powerplay: first 6 overs with fielding restrictions.
Only approved tennis balls (with TBCFI stamp) weighing 58-62 grams and circumference of 20-21 cm. Colored balls (white, orange) used for day/night matches.
Artificial turf or matting pitch of 22 yards. Boundary distance: minimum 45 meters, maximum 65 meters from pitch center.
TBCFI prioritizes player welfare and sportsmanship. Helmets are mandatory for batsmen and close-in fielders. Strict anti-corruption and anti-doping policies are enforced.
TBCFI's network spans all Indian states, each with its own association managing local tournaments, player development, and selecting state teams for national competitions.
